Fulham vs Chelsea

A West London derby closes the opening weekend, and it is a study in two clubs that finished last season on exactly the same 52 points, separated only by goal difference, then rebuilt in opposite directions. Chelsea spent a reported £333 million including a British record fee on Morgan Rogers, hired Xabi Alonso, and are the market's road favourite. But the team the models see won two of its last 13 league games, scored five goals across its final nine, and failed to score in five straight between mid March and late April. Fulham spent modestly on four young players, lost Harry Wilson (their 10-goal top scorer) to Leeds and Raúl Jiménez as well, and handed the side to Álvaro Arbeloa, a coach with 28 senior matches. The single question on the page is whether the models are right that Chelsea are a broken team or the market is right that they are a rebuilt one. The head-to-head points at Chelsea (unbeaten in 34 of the last 38 league meetings, six wins in their last eight visits here) but narrows sharply up close: Fulham have won two of the last five, both at Craven Cottage, including 2-1 in January 2026.

Nuestra lectura: These two columns are the same measurement in the same competition, and the split rows are where the signal lives. Chelsea's away profile was loose in a way that survives most adjustments: two thirds of their road games went over 2.5, both teams scored in more than two thirds, and they kept a clean sheet in only four of nineteen. Fulham's home profile is the opposite, 1.05 conceded per game with a clean sheet in almost a third of matches. Those profiles fight each other, which is why the goals markets sit near a coin flip. The caveat that cuts hardest: both clubs stopped scoring in April (both teams scored in only two of Fulham's final ten league games; Chelsea blanked in five straight), and both attacks have since been substantially changed. We omit xG entirely because the 2026-27 samples do not exist yet and last season's describe attacks that no longer exist. Treat every figure as directional.

Top 3 pronósticos

  1. 1Fulham moneyline+285*MediaBest Bet 🔥

The only market where all three models sit above the de-vigged price, and it is comfortably plus money. Fair is 24.6 percent and the reads are 32, 50.69 and 38. The fixture-specific evidence supports it from the Chelsea side: one win in their last nine league matches, five goals in those nine, five consecutive blanks inside the run, no clean sheet in sixteen, and a new coach taking eleven largely new teammates into a derby on day one. Fulham's own case is narrower but real: 35 of 52 points came at Craven Cottage last season, and they won two of the last five meetings, both here, including 2-1 in January. Primary stake, one unit. Against it, and these are not formalities: Chelsea are unbeaten in 34 of the last 38 league meetings and have won six of their last eight visits, Fulham lost their leading scorer, and the loudest model on our side is the one whose method we trust least.

  2. 2Both teams to score, Yes-141*Baja

The model edge is thin (fair 55.2 against reads of 62, 53.3, 55), so what carries this is the underlying and specifically Chelsea's defence: sixteen consecutive league matches conceding, no clean sheet since 17 January, only four away shutouts all season and all before Christmas, and both teams scoring in 13 of their 19 road games. Add that Chelsea have scored in all nine of their last away visits to Craven Cottage and Fulham failed to score in only three of nineteen home matches. It also survives the script that kills pick 3, because a 1-1 or 2-1 cashes it. Against it, and it is loud: both teams scored in only two of Fulham's final ten league games last season, and Chelsea blanked in five straight inside the same window. Half a unit.

  3. 3Over 2.5 goals-124*Baja

The thinnest thing on the card, here on the price being fair rather than an edge. Fair is 52.5 percent and the models average 54.0, a point and a half. The underlying for it is one-sided but strong: Chelsea went over 2.5 in 14 of 19 away matches last season and conceded 1.42 per game on the road, and Matchweek 1 has run hot at 2.78 goals per game. Against it, three heavy things: Fulham's home profile is the opposite (52.6 percent over, 1.05 conceded), the third data model's three likeliest scorelines are 1-1, 0-1 and 1-0, and a derby opener between two sides that both stopped scoring in April is not obviously a shootout. Quarter unit, and cut this one first if trimming.
